My background is one of neglect, abuse, and learned helplessness. I suffered many years of abuse from early childhood which led to many more years of abuse in adult relationships. I have had recovery from those horrible experiences thanks to my experiences with horses, particularly one horse named Rojo. I overcame the phobia of fear of heights along with many other problems stemming from my childhood experiences. I gained self confidence, self worth and esteem, along with an expertise in training horses and riders. My life was transformed through horses and I want to help others achieve similar high levels of living that I have come to experience through the help of horses.

I have been directly involved with horses for over 25 years and have learned a great deal about myself, people, and life through that involvement. Horse involvement gets one out in Nature where we can absorb all the positive aspects of living without even realizing it at times. When one is stressed or feeling down one can be with a horse and feel better just through the interaction of feeling close to the animal! People can work through their fears with these patient creatures and have possibly the only trusting relationship to that point in their lives with a horse.

I have always had a good relationship with animals because I could trust them where I could not trust most humans while growing up. Due to my lifelong love and interaction with animals I have learned how to communicate with them as they would with each other. This ability to read an animal has given me much advantage over many "trainers" when it comes to training issues that have been labeled as the horse’s problem. It has been my experience that any problem a person has with a horse is due to the lack of knowledge of the person, particularly communicating what he/she wants from the horse. This problem leads to neglect and abuse of the horse and stems from learned behavior of the owner. Some people take their frustration out on the horse because that's what they learned to do in their family of origin. Others may just walk away and not resolve the problem; which tells the horse that this is the behavior you wanted so it repeats the behavior the next time, much to the owner's dismay.  This is the type of problems I like to solve with horse owners; and ones I like to teach potential owners/riders to avoid.

Other animals behave similarly as horses do so this can be taught to children and adults for the betterment of the human/animal condition. It is to that end that I have dedicated my life to helping people, in any aspect of their lives, to work at achieving a better experience. In order to achieve this goal I have degrees in Job Technologies, Psychology, and currently earning a Master of Science in Education and Counseling Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have surrounded myself with others that have the same goal in mind and heart and look forward to many years of supporting the efforts of people in need.
